We do not offer refills for our crystal deodorant because we have a plastic free option. We think this is the best option if you are looking to reduce your plastic usage. If you would like a refillable deodorant we do offer refills for our natural deodorant sprays, roll-ons and sticks.
Crystal deodorants work by using natural minerals to inhibit the growth of odour causing bacteria on the skin. They are made from potassium alum, a naturally occurring mineral salt that has antimicrobial properties. When applied to the skin, potassium alum forms a thin, invisible layer that helps to prevent the growth of odour-causing bacteria. It is important to only apply crystal deodorants to clean skin as they do not kill bacteria just inhibit its growth, so if there is already odour causing bacteria on your skin, they will not work effectively.
You only apply a small amount at a time, and the crystals last a very long time so it is quite normal to think they are not reducing in size.

Crystal deodorants are soluble in water. When you apply them you need to use water, however applying too much water can make them reduce in size a lot quicker. We recommend applying them to damp skin after a bath or shower and drying them after use. This reduces the crystals contact with water and makes them last a lot longer.
